INTERPRETIVE READING TASK
Interpretive mode tasks means to react to info and to infer. Online interpretive activities occur among the students and authentic material to discover appropriate idea by reading between the lines and linguistic meaning by listening, reading and viewing of authentic material, making connections between existing knowledge and new information. Interpretive mode task can be done individually, in pair. Interpretive task may include Guess making from context, Brainstorm an idea, Listen with visual, Create questions from given visuals. These tasks can be created from authentic material and this material is typically found in Film and theatre, Conversations, Newspaper, and Music.
Well here I say that technology really provides a great platform for designing and developing interpretive tasks. As online Interpretive activities give learners choice to read, write and speak as we have seen in Voice Thread activity. Learners react and infer meaning from the given authentic material in this activity. This process ensures that learners work moving away from teacher centered approach and release the responsibility for unlocking and comprehending the text to the learners. Besides this helpfulness of technology, online interpretive activities are unable to keep privacy and learners can copy off of each other’ responses so it will not promote language growth based on proficiency. Learners can easily skim each other answer and not do real reading and listening.
The other online tools which can facilitate interpretive activities are  Padlet, Edpuzzle, Videoscribe, and Articulate storyline 205 , Playposit, Vialogues, ActivelyLearn, Ponder. I have not applied these activities as teacher so I am not confident about the effect of  choice of tool on any activity but I think the designing and developing reading and writing can have positive impact on learner. Because mostly the activities we have seen in this unit for interpretive activities are based on learners’ response to visuals and I think it a good brainstorming activity.
Watching visuals and writing answers of questions in voice thread activity as well as in Padlet activity, I did not find the presence of instructor with timely feedback or there may not be any system of giving feedback in these tools.
