INTERPERSONAL ACTIVITY

  • Context: B.Com (Tertiary level) /Intermediate level of language

  • Students Can-Do: (take from your learning plan) plan an online practice for interview for job.

  •  They can plan a video call by downloading Skype/ Google-Hangouts on their android mobile set through Google playstore.  

  • Communicative Mode:  Interpersonal

  • Delivery Mode:  synchronous/ real time video communication between two students at planned time

  • Plan for Assessment: immediate feedback

  • Materials needed / Technology tool or application:  Google hangouts

  • Estimated time for completion: 20 minutes


  •  B. Create detailed student instructions for the activity

For this activity, both of the students play the role of interviewer and interviewee. In first ten minutes one will play the part of interviewer and ask questions from interviewee and in the next 10 minutes, the role will be exchanged. To complete this activity, they are required the following to do:

  1. Make Gmail id to log in Google hangouts where they can sync their phone contacts and make invitation to the partner for conversation before sharing video screen which they can do by clicking on video call button. Allow hangouts to access your camera.

  2. Conduct a face to face video communication as per your role and time specified for each of your part to play in communication.

  3. Download Air Modified form (Attached) and fill it according to given instructions in it.

  1. In the “Activation part,” Interviewer/ interviewee will discuss questions and answers of following points:

  • You know the company really well. ...

  • You have the experience to do the job. ...

  • You work well with others. ...

  • You are constantly seeking to learn. ...

  • You are motivated. ...

  • You are excited about this job. ...

  • You have a plan. ...

  • You want to build a career in the company.

 They will take notes what kind of vocabulary they use while asking and answering questions specific to the interview for job.


2. In the” Interaction part”, they will discuss how they can improve their answers to the questions and incase of real interview, what strategies should be taken to look more confident in order to make it a successful interview, make notes on appropriate answers to questions.

3. In Reflection part, they will discuss techniques and interviewing rules which they learn during their interaction about the mock interview and write a Report on the topic of “5 interviewing rules”.  



  •      C. Post the learning plan and activity overview, detailed student instructions for the activities, and a link to the activity in the Describe an Interpersonal Activity forum.

  • Students will perform this activity after the completion of last chapter “Interview” of “Business communication”.

  • Record and email your video call to instructor immediately.

  • Attach your filled Air Modified Form for feedback.
